WELCOME!

Here we go!

Looks like I’m finally doing this. After years of thinking about this, it almost feels surreal to type these words:

Welcome to the new me! What a better way to rebrand myself than with a new name and new website!

For years, since 2009 to exact, I have been identifying myself online with just my first and last name. While that name has served its purpose; I have been wanting to change it for a long time now. For me, today (New Years Day 2020 – the first day of the new decade) seemed like a fantastic time to make it official.

So, from now on, I will be branding myself as THORN3 using my long time reddit username: THORN3
Fun Fact: Not only is this my Reddit handle, it is also based on my real-life middle name: Thorne.

Not only is it simpler, cleaner and easier to remember; but I honestly lost count of how many times people have told me over the years: “You should go by Thorne instead, its so much cooler!” Deep down I always 100% agreed. THORN3 has always felt right to me, but for so long I held off because I also thought it might be too bold. Too “out there” for someone just starting to build an artistic career. It felt risky, especially when I wasn’t sure if I was going to go into career wise: Illustration, Graphic Design or Fine Art. So I played it safe and stayed conventional.

But you know what? Life’s too short to play it safe!

I’ve always wanted to explore more creatively, to branch out and experiment without feeling boxed in by the expectations that came with my previous brand. It was starting to feel restrictive, limiting my ability to truly express everything I want to create. THORN3 feels like a fresh start – a blank canvas brimming with infinite possibilities.

The funny thing is, it this big change all started on a whim. A few days ago, I randomly decided to check if the domain name thorn3.com was available… and much to my surprise, it was! I decided to wait until today, January 1st 2020, pull the trigger and buy the domain as a way to officially set the intention with a New Years Resolution.
After completing the Domain Registration, I looked at the receipt from Google Domains and any lingering doubts / 2nd thoughts I had about this rebrand vanished when I saw the timestamp:

As someone who obsessed over numerology as a teenager and also as someone who spent countless hours browsing 4chan back in the early 2000s and always dreamed of getting lucky enough to “Roll Dubs” when posting on /b/, this was deeply satisfying for me. I swear, it felt like a sign from the universe – a little nudge saying: “YES. This is meant to be.”

This new brand isn’t just about a name change; it’s about embracing freedom and flexibility in my art and giving myself the permission to creatively pursing everything I always wanted to do. I can’t wait to share what I create under THORN3 – expect everything from Tradition Fine Art, Experimental Photography, New Media Installation, 3D Printing and Creative DIY Projects.

I’m so excited to see where this journey takes me. There are so many exciting things on the horizon!

This is a new chapter, and I’m bursting with anticipation for what it holds.

Thank you for being here, I cant wait to see what amazing things we can create together.

Come Back Soon!
